  1. Mouthguards: Mouthguards are essential for protecting children’s teeth during sports such as football, hockey, basketball, and even non-contact sports like gymnastics and skateboarding. They cushion blows that might otherwise cause broken teeth, injuries to the lips and gums, and even jaw fractures. There are three types of mouthguards such as stock mouthguards, boil and bite mouthguards and custom-fitted mouthguards. 

  2. Face Shields and Helmets: For sports like hockey, lacrosse, and baseball, face shields and helmets with face guards are important. These not only protect against dental injuries but also shield the entire face. Ensure that the helmet fits properly and that the face guard is securely attached.

  3. Dental Sealants: Dental sealants provide an extra layer of protection for your child's teeth by preventing decay. Sealants are a thin, protective coating applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth, where decay occurs most often. 

  4. Regular Dental Check-Ups: Regular visits to the dentist ensure that your child’s teeth and gums are healthy and strong. Ensure to instill the healthy habit of brushing twice a day with an electric brush and flossing daily using a cordless water flosser in your kids.
